Key Differences
From each company's own pages, checked October 6, 2026.
Minimum: $20,000 vs. $50,000
Noble Gold's $20,000 IRA minimum (and $10,000 for cash purchases) makes it reachable for mid-sized rollovers that Augusta won't take.
Annual fees: $285 vs. $235
Noble Gold publishes $125 for maintenance plus $160 for storage, or $285 a year, plus a $50 setup fee and a $30 wire fee. It also lists a $75 in-kind distribution fee and a $250 account closure fee. Augusta publishes $235 a year after a $50 setup fee, and says every account receives up to 10 years of custodian and depository fees paid. Noble Gold's itemized exit fees are a plus for transparency; know them before you open.
Storage and home delivery
Noble Gold mentions a secure depository in Texas for IRA metal and home delivery for cash purchases. Remember that IRA metal itself can't be stored at home. Augusta lists several depository locations.
Before any fee coverage or promotions. Augusta says every account receives up to 10 years of custodian and depository fees paid by Augusta.
The Cost Neither Fee Schedule Shows
Annual fees are only part of the cost. The bigger number is usually the premium you pay over the metal's melt value, which depends on the product. Ask both companies to quote the same products (for example, a common gold bullion coin) on the same day, with the spot price and price per ounce in writing. Then ask what each would pay to buy those products back. See gold IRA fees and bullion vs. proof coins.
